Local photography, Rick A Jones, captured this beautiful shot of a setting sun on a house located in downtown Fredericksburg. When I saw it, I immediately thought of an Edward Hopper painting. The light, the angle of the shadows, the architecture...I loved every inch of the photo. I contacted Rick and he gave me permission to create my own rendering off of his image.
I will say, that this was probably the most fun painting study that I’ve done so far. I tried harnessing my inner Ed Hopper and decided to work with more flat areas of color. The more I work with acrylics, I feel like I’m starting to hone in on my own visual style. But that’s why I’m doing this...to find me and how I see the world through my art.
