My husband took this photo early on in our marriage back before we had kids. It has always been a favorite of ours for many reasons. We didn’t know then that we’d eventually have two lovely boys of our own.

This was a really fun painting to create. I decided to build up the colors and layers moving from the background to the foreground. I am really enjoying the bright colors that I’m achieving with acrylic.

As I’m painting these studies, I’m also thinking about ideas for painting series. I don’t have any concrete ideas yet, but simply sunsets might be a cool series to create. We shall see!
